Room faces a main street of the main shopping area in ex West Berlin, however, I didn't hear any noises in a room. Very good soundproof.
Also very quiet air condition with easy temperature setting.
The most surprising was free WIFI in a room. First time 200Mbps download!
Room has a kettle for hot water but no refrigerator.
On the floor, there is a shared WC. That's useful if you wanna go to WC during your partner's showering.
To stay there for shopping, sightseeing, it's a good choice.
Then why 4 not 5? Room is small(yes, I booked S room) and not 4 star hotel level.
IBIS Kurfürstendamm is similar location, similar room and good value for money.
Great hotel in a great location. Close to any public transport you may need. Plenty of shops and food around. Staff very welcoming on arrival. Rooms fairly basic but had everything we needed as we didn't really spend too much time in the room!
Moscow, Moscow City, Russia
We liked the location of the hotel, for example, the stop of 100 and 200 buses is nearby and you can easily visit many sightseeing places. The room was spacious, had soundproof windows, slippers, smart TV. Breakfast was good and the possibility to have coffee or tea at any time was nice.
We got a room just across from the hall and elevator, and we heard every noise from the corridor in the early morning. On the day of the check out the maid just opened our door and tried to come in - it was early morning, and as it was the check out day there was no need for her to do it before we checked out, did not even apologize,
My husband had a birthday on the weekend we stayed in the hotel and the staff did not even congratulate him.
Because of the wall between bed and sofa, there is not enough light in the room, so even during the day we had to switch on lights.
I would prefer to have small hand towels instead of paper tissues in the bathroom, especially as the hotel seems to be eco-friendly.
Not what we expected
This hotel (if You can call it an hotel) only scores high because of it's location. It's nothing like staying at an hotel, more like renting a room in a building. We had a big room - too big actually and with a tiny bathroom.
The breakfast is limited of choices and we wouldn't recommend it at all. And not that I mind cleaning up after myself, but when I'm on vacation it's nice to just relax and not feel like I'm on McDonalds and have to pick up my tray.
Staff is nice, but not sure You would spot them as they only use a grey t-shirt as uniform with jeans or black pants. Very randome and not what we expect at all when we meet staff at an hotel.
Lobby is at the 5 floor, and anyone can use the stairs and elevator from the open door from the street - this made us wonder about the security.
The room was so hot, that we had to have the balcony door open (in December!) to be able to sleep.
But it was quiet, so we slept well.
About about:berlin :)
This hotel probably has the best staff that we have ever seen in any of the hotels so far. Everyone at the lobby was wonderful, kind and pleasant. They even helped us in locating organic shops nearby and gave us a free upgrade to XL room which we liked a lot. Another plus is that all soaps and shampoos are organic.
However, hotel's sound isolation is not good and the footsteps from the corridors above and below could be heard inside of our room. Although we asked for the quietest room possible, there were high levels of noise coming from a nearby construction site, so sleeping after 9h in the morning was impossible; of course, hotel could not do much about it. The rooms are designed and arranged very nicely; the biggest problem was the lack of soap holder in the shower and towel holders in the bathroom.
