Fantastic staff,very comfortable hotel
We were three ladies and had a very comfortable room on 12th floor with a breathtaking sea view. The room had everything for 3 persons and it was specious and comfortable. The hotel is newly refurbished and designed with style. Spa area is amazing, perfect for a short get a way. The food was delicious both breakfast and lunch. The best part of the hotel are people,very polite,helpful and dedicated. I cannot praise them enough,some really amazing people. Well done and big thank you to Olga and Mathew at the reception, restaurant manager who was very kind and professional during breakfast, bar manager who served us during lunch and all others who made sure that we have and azing stay. Guys,you are fantastic. Hold on there, you are all doing a great job during these difficult times. This will soon be over. Till we meet again! :)
The Malta Marriott Saint Valentine's weekend stay
We had a superbly wonderful stay at the Malta Marriott for St. Valentine's weekend! The room was excellent, spacious with a breath taking view of Balluta Bay, very clean and welcoming with that added touch of themed rose petals on the bed. We had an amazing Saturday night 7 course dinner at the Marriott's Atrio Restaurant. The Staff were excellent and very joyful especially Christine and Matthew all very happy to serve and attend to our every wish. Sunday morning we went to the Spa where again the staff there were so happy to see you and help you achieve your goals, the gym is excellent and very well equipped too. Sunday lunch was again a palatable delight too! Throughout our stay all Covid protocols were strictly adhered to and we felt very safe in the Marriott's environment. Overall a wholehearted thank you to the genial Giuseppe who kept us well entertained and feeling like a part of the Marriott family, The lovely Olga who made sure all our needs were met instantly, and last but not least Christine and Matthew who's smiles and willingness to serve only the most amazing culinary feast guaranteed the best weekend ever for us! We definitely recommend The Malta Marriott and we shall definitely be back!
Excellent staff & service with remarkable efforts to offer fully operational hotel facilities
This recently opened Marriott hotel exceeded my expectations in so many ways. Having opened after a full refurbishment shortly before Covid swept over Europe (previously used to be another Marriott brand hotel), the property is effectively virtually brand new. Surprisingly, and quite incredibly in these times, the property operates with nearly all facilities open and available to guests, or with near-equivalent alternative offerings which is quite remarkable indeed.
In particular, I left full of praise for literally everyone at the property, for the warm welcome and hospitality, to the flexibility and the efforts of staff to make my first stay truly memorable. I’d like to extend a special word of appreciation for all the friendly conversations I could share with everyone at the property during my 3 night stay, in particular: Olga and Jenny at the front desk for their excellent personalized service and recommendations, to Francesca at the Atrio bar during the evening and to Fehmi at the breakfast service, and not to forget, to Candelaria at the spa reception for the excellent service, and last but not least to Feli for the absolutely outstanding treatments. Everyone goes the extra mile to make sure guest experience is minimally impacted by any Covid-related restrictions, while at the same time strictly ensuring adherence to guidelines and safety measures.
My next trip to Malta is scheduled for April this spring, and I do sincerely hope all works out well for me to be able to pay the Marriott a next visit soon!
Excellent hotel with excellent service
I had one of the most amazing hotel stays at the Malta Marriott during Christmas 2020. Malta Marriott is the kind of hotel that really cares for customers and service and always goes above expectation. The excellent service started even before checking in until checking out.
I had a little car incident but fortunately it was in front of the hotel. When we asked for help, the hotel went way above and beyond to help me although they were not required to. I am deeply appreciated of this nice gesture and it helped prevent the incident from ruining my vacation. I felt happy and welcomed from this first moment.
The hotel was very nice: big but cozy, modern, updated, smelt good, with very airy space and great views of the ocean and St. Julian.
I got upgraded to the club room with sea view thanks to my status with Marriott. This room was amazing. The room was very big with two queen size beds, which is a rarity in Europe. Everything in the room was nice and well designed. The view of the ocean and city from the 12th floor was incredible. The bathroom was big and nicely designed. However due to the wood panel design, the sound proofing could have been better, especially when traveling with friends (I get it that it would be nice and cool for single travelers or couples but it could get awkward for other types of travelers).
The pools and sauna facility were also very nice. Due to covid, the steam rooms were closed but the rest of the facility were open. Staff was very quick with cleaning sun beds and the hotel posted clear signs asking people to respect social distance and keeping everyone safe during covid. This made guests feel safe while relaxing.
Service at the hotel was excellent. Everyone we interacted with were nice and friendly. I wanted to thank the checkin agents, the managers, the restaurant wait staff and everyone who helped make the stay such a great one. The club lounge was closed due to covid but the hotel compensated members who have lounge access by giving full sit down breakfast and afternoon hors d'oeuvre service at the restaurant. Breakfast was amazing. As part of the benefits for elite members, we could order anything from the menu. The food and coffee were so tasty and had high quality. The afternoon M-lounge service was decent with nice appetizers and complimentary drinks, including alcoholic beverages. It was a really nice and efficient way to tailor the lounge services for covid. When its sunny and not too windy, even in the winter, we could have outdoor meals and the view and the vibe from the restaurant was awesome. Only thing that could have been better is if the hotel could send water to our rooms more frequently (I mean, getting water from the lounge is what most people do the most anyways). This was a non-issue though because when we asked, they gave us water very fast.
Location of the hotel was great. There was a small beach right in front of the hotel that was actually quite nice. The hotel is close to all the good restaurants and easy to drive to Malta attractions. We had dinner at Caviar and Bull, which was 10 minutes drive away and that was excellent. Parking was free and very easy to use too. I prefer the garage parking with access from the bay road but the hotel had outdoor parking at its main entrance too.
Covid is definitely a challenge to the hotel industry and I appreciate how Malta Marriott managed to tailor their service to keep up high level of service while respecting social distancing. I have stayed at or read stories of other hotels just outright cutting elite benefits or closing facilities “due to covid”. While I respect social distance rules, I think it’s just cheap and lazy for hotels to cut services without reasonable compensation. I’m happy to see the Marriott innovative approach. I felt safe and pleased with the service for the whole stay.
Last but not least, the elevators were very fast, smart and efficient. This is such a small details but very important when it comes to big hotels and the Marriott Malta got this right. We never had to wait for more than 30 seconds for elevators although we stayed on the top floor.
I had an amazing time and already looking forward to returning. Malta is an incredible destination to visit and I would love to stay again at the Marriott Malta next time I’m back to this great country.
Perfect Afternoon Tea
A fantastic experience at a beautiful hotel. All staff was more than accomodating from prior to booking to finish, catering to dietary requirements and other concerns.
The afternoon tea itself was beautifully presented and delicious, and the location it was served in was absolutely gorgeous, both terrace and restaurant.
It was truly refreshing to visit a place which pays attention to detail without needing to be reminded - the staff were very well aware of the dietary requirements and no reminder had to be made, and they even presented something special after taking note that it was a birthday celebration. Cannot recommend enough!
