Great location, shame rooms are not all shown on hotel website!!!
We arrived in the afternoon and told that we had been upgraded, great we thought.
We went to the room which was much bigger than we had booked but the bathroom was a let-down; the single flush on the toilet was broken, the shower tray had a crack from one side to the other and the metal holder in the where you put your soap, shampoo, etc was all rusty and the shower door seal was broken and mouldy. We asked if there were any other rooms available and were shown a small room without a rainfall shower. According to the hotel website all rooms have rainfall shower. NOT TRUE!! So, we decided to stay in the bigger room. There were only bath towels in the bathroom, we went to reception we asked for hand towels and a mat to put on the floor outside the shower. Hours later after returning from sightseeing there were no handtowels but there was a WET mat outside the shower, this was not acceptable as we complained. In the room there is a minibar with everything 1Euro and an espresso coffee maker.
At breakfast the service was good and there was a good selection of food both hot and cold which due to Covid19 was now not buffet but ordered with the waiting staff. The seating area for breakfast was an open patio area on the rooftop. There was also a bar but this was not open.
The hotel is within a two minute walk of the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps are about 5 minutes.
We stayed in room 301. So don't stay in this room.
Gem of a hotel, great location and friendly service
I honestly could not fault this hotel if I tried. Such a great location in the centre of Rome - a stone's throw from the famous Trevi fountain and with hundreds of good restaurants/bars/shops on the doorstep.
The service from reception and at breakfast was brilliant. The staff are so friendly and nothing seemed like too much trouble. Breakfast is also served in a covered terrace which made mornings most enjoyable.
We got a deluxe room with balcony which we were most pleased with and would definitely recommend for those who like to enjoy a quiet coffee or drink before descending onto the streets to experience the nightlife.
Stayed at the Relais for the last 2 nights of our trip to Rome and it was probably the best hotel we had stayed in throughout our trip!
They were able to accommodate our last minute booking and we booked a superior double.
On arrival we were swiftly checked in and our luggage was taken up to the room for us!
The room was a great size, cool spacious and very light. It was equipped with everything you would need, kettle, coffee machine, hair dryer, tv, air con and a safe!
We used it mainly as base for wandering out on foot and the hotel is in a great location to do so, everything is easily accessed on foot and there are plenty of places to eat and drink nearby!
The hotel also has a roof terrace with some loungers and chairs, we sat up there both afternoons to catch some of the sun and it was ideal for just that!
Would definitely recommend this place for a little city break and would definitely return to the hotel if returning to Rome!
Had two nights here in September. Clean, well equipped room. Friendly hosts and quick check in. Location superb! Room sun terrace was ideal, as it has loungers/chairs to chill/catch some sun after sightseeing. Would definitely stay again.
